If you’re interested in a career in the ever-growing sports industry, our Sports Management AS degree program is an ideal start. Courses are business and marketing-oriented, equipping you with the knowledge to take on exciting internships with local organizations while preparing you for transfer into a four-year program in business or sports management.  

Upon completion of the two-year program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:

  • Ability to apply core business and marketing principles within sports and recreation settings
  • Understanding of the organizational structure and operations of amateur and professional sports organizations
  • Ability to analyze trends and issues within the sports industry, including media, sponsorship, and fan engagement
  • Knowledge of event planning and facility management within sports and recreation environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, and organizational leadership
  • Understanding of ethical considerations and legal issues in sports management
  • Ability to utilize technology and data to support decision-making in sports-related organizations
  • Development of teamwork and leadership skills applicable to sports and recreation settings
  • Awareness of career pathways and professional expectations within the sports industry
  • Prepared for transfer to a four-year institution
